Viking round shield with carved Vegvisir symbol

This shield's main decorative motif is the Vegvisir – Icelandic runic compass used by travelers not to get lost on their voyages. It used to be a powerful Viking symbol of protection. Furthermore, the shield features a Viking-style braid and Futhark runes, all carved into the plywood. This model is made of 15mm thick birch plywood, finished with various stains and linen seed oil.
The shield can be used as a decorative wall hanger or as a functional piece for medieval reenactment or LARP.
